ECS pays tribute to Dr Shane Beadle (1957 – 2021), Vice-President and Former Chairman
Ealing Choral Society pays tribute to Dr Shane Beadle following the sad news of his death on the 11th June 2021, after a long-term illness.
Shane joined the Society in 1982 at the age of 24, remaining a stalwart member of the tenor section for 40 years until his death.
He was Chairman for 17 years from 1999 to 2016, bringing to this role his exceptional organisational skills and diligence, an in-depth knowledge and appreciation of choral music, insightful strategic planning and a long-term vision for the Society.
After stepping down as Chairman, Shane accepted the invitation to become a Vice-President of the Society, offered as a mark of our appreciation and acknowledgement of his enormous contribution to the choir.
He continued to support the Society, both as a member with his wonderful tenor voice and also providing help and advice drawn from his wealth of knowledge and experience.
We are deeply saddened to have lost a Vice-President, Former Chairman, Member and Friend.
We send our sincere condolences to his civil partner Tony Smith, his sister Kay and members of his family.
Shane also had a distinguished public sector career and his most recent position was as Consulting Director on Public Policy with ICF for the past 15 years.
