Dido and Aeneas
Join Ealing Choral Society for this early gem of opera in English, portraying the ill-fated romance of tragic Queen Dido and Trojan hero Aeneas. The wonderfully varied Baroque score by Henry Purcell features pastoral idylls, cackling witches and lusty sailors, alongside scenes of poignant tragedy and immense beauty.
The programme also features other works by Purcell, Parry, Tomkins, Batten and Pachelbel. An evening of dramatic music as autumn nights draw in. With Meridian Sinfonia, soprano Rachel Allen, mezzo soprano Bethany Horak-Hallett, contralto Mae Heydorn, tenor Peter Davoren and baritone Jerome Knox. Peter Asprey conducts.

Parking is always available on neighbouring streets, and there are no meters or residential parking schemes. The nearest tube stations are Ealing Broadway (on the Central and District Lines) and Hanger Lane (on the Central Line). From Ealing Broadway, use the E2 or E9 bus services. Taxis are also available outside Ealing Broadway tube station. The church is a 15 minute walk along Brunswick Road from Hanger Lane tube.
