11 December 2021, 7:00 pm
St Barnabas Church
Note: this event has passed.
Thanks to another very well-attended production on Saturday 11th December 2021, Ealing Choral Society’s annual carol concert has raised an amazing £4000 for charity!
In the presence of the Worshipful the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Munir Ahmed, the choir, conducted by guest conductor Emily Elias, performed a variety of festive pieces. Christopher Wickenden of Haven Funeral Services (sponsor of the concert programme), John Sergeant (broadcaster and ECS Associate), and a number of Meadow House Hospice representatives were among those giving seasonal readings, and all those present lent their voices to some much-loved carols.
Meadow House Hospice aims to support patients and families struggling with the reality of life-limiting illness and those in the bereavement phase. They provide specialist care across the boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow for people requiring palliative care, as well as offering support for their families.
Lynne May, Voluntary Services Manager for Meadow House Hospice said, said: “We have had a long relationship with Ealing Choral Society and as a local charity we are truly honoured that the choir has chosen to support us this year with their annual concert. Especially after the hardships of the last two years it was wonderful to be able to celebrate Christmas together again. Meadow House is very grateful to the concert-goers for their donations towards the work we do.”
ECS Chairman Jane Macleod said “We are thrilled that our carol concert has raised such a magnificent sum of money to support Meadow House Hospice; a charity with which we have been associated for many years and which does such valuable work for the people of Ealing and Hounslow. After so many long months when we were not able to hold live concerts, we are delighted to again be able to raise our voices together at our much-loved Christmas Carol concert.”
