About Us

Ealing Choral Society was founded in 1962 and is an important part of London’s classical music community.

An amateur auditioned choir with a strength of over 90 singers, we maintain a consistently high standard over a very wide range of choral works and always perform with professional orchestra and soloists. Over the last few years we have sung most of the great choral classics, including Handel Messiah, Mendelssohn Elijah and Mozart Requiem. Our performances of challenging contemporary works have included Patterson Mass of the Sea and Magnificat, Tippett A Child of our Time and the Poulenc Gloria. In June 2012 we performed the premiere of our 50th Anniversary commission Sea and Stars by Julian Philips and in November 2022 we performed the premiere of our 60th Anniversary commission Bird of Time by Cecilia McDowall.

Ealing Choral Society performs three concerts a year (typically in November, March and June) as well as a Carol Concert in December, and also takes part in local community events.

St Barnabas Church in Pitshanger Lane, Ealing is our most usual concert venue, but we also give concerts every year in other concert halls and churches around London, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Cadogan Hall.
