We are an amateur choir, performing with world-class orchestras and soloists in Ealing, as well as Central London and occasionally abroad. Our next concert is a Charity Carol Concert on the 13th December 2014 at 7pm, at St Barnabas Church W5, in support of Save the Children. Save the Children works in 120 countries. They save children’s lives. They fight for their rights. They help them fulfil their potential. At present, Save the Children teams are on the ground in West Africa responding to the Ebola outbreak which has killed more than 5,000 people so far in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. They are running treatment centres for patients, supporting children and raising awareness of how to prevent infection. Back at home in the UK, the Save the Children 'Born to Read' campaign will provide 7,000 more reading helpers for 23,000 pupils in schools in deprived areas across the country. These are just two examples of the life-changing work this charity does.
The proceeds from this concert will be matched by the UK Government, thus doubling the value, and enabling Save the Children to do twice as much! So, come along and support this very worthwhile cause. The concert will certainly get you in the festive mood - there will be the usual well-loved carols, with mince pies and refreshments afterwards.
